The JRF’s Row to Rio is in high gear, with their National Draft scheduled for this Saturday, October 27, between 10am and 2pm at Quality Academics in Half Way Tree.
This initiative is aimed at identifying talent to add to their pool of athletes that will undergo a focused intensive to ensure that they qualify for the 2020 Olympics.
They are looking for athletes (both male and female) with the drive, determination, conditioning and attitude to train to become elite rowers. No rowing experience necessary – they will work with the raw talent.
From a cross training perspective, rowing is an excellent sport that conditions the legs (45%), back/core (33%) and arms and shoulders(22%) that will complement any training regimen.
Do help us to publicize this event as we are ensuring that Jamaica excel in all sporting areas and the JRF looks forward to widening the opportunities for our youth in the sporting arena.
