China Project 2018

The Jamaica Volleyball Association will be embarking upon a great journey to the country of China to develop their athletes’ skills in the sport of volleyball. The Jamaican government has an arrangement with the Chinese Government to select athletes from 7 disciplines to go to China for 2 months to train and develop their skills of which included Volleyball. Coaches from China for all 7 sports came to Jamaica in January and tested the athletes in various endurance training sessions after which they selected athletes who they feel had the right attributes and a winning shot at enhancing their skills in the sport. All delegations consist of only female athletes. The girls are scheduled to leave in June and are expected to return in September. The Volleyball delegation consists of 16 athletes, 1 coach, Mrs. Shedeiky Hamilton-Barnes and a manager, Mrs. Jacqueline Cowan.
