The Jamaica Volleyball Association recently held their annual Nationa U13 Primary School Finals at the G.C Foster College on February 1, 2019.
12 Schools particpated in this year’s event, namely Lyssons Primary, Dalvey Primary, Point Hill Primary, Friendship Primary, Chantilly Primary, Easington Primary, Bamboo Primary, Mountain View Primary, St, Patricks Primary, New Road All Age, New Works Primary and Gibraltar All Age.
Lyssons Primary the 2018 champions was dethroned by the Chantilly Primary School, hailing from the parish Westmoreland .
The two teams fought vigorously in their preliminary zones and went head to head in the final showdown.
Unfortunately for the favorite team (Lyssons) the underdogs cut them down one point at a time and when the final whistle blew Chantilly was left standing with 21 points while Lyssons ended with 19 points.
The Winners walked away with gold medals, a trophy and three balls to help with the development of volleyball in the school, while the second and third place got medals with two balls and one ball respectively.
