CHANTILLY PRIMARY RETAINS CHAMPIONSHIP

The JaVA National U13 Primary School Final took place on Friday, February 7 at the GC Foster College where twelve parish winners participated.

In a hotly contested semi-final, Lyssons won over Haddo Primary while Chantilly defeated Morant Bay Primary to book their places in the final. With what was a repeat of last year’s final, a nail-biting and thrilling match, ended with Chantilly retaining their title for a second year after taking down Lyssons 25-18. First time participants in the National Finals Haddo Primary got the best of Morant Bay Primary to take 3rd place, winning by one point (18-17).

JaVA was pleased with the standard of play, which saw a marked improvement over previous years. The competition is being used to lay a platform for identifying new talent and ensuring continuity of the sport through the development of its youth program.
